French dip sandwich

French dip sandwiches 

Ingredients:

3 lb chuck roast 

8 hoagie rolls 

2 tbs butter

1 package French onion dip mix 

2 tsp kosher salt 

2 bay leaves

4 cups of beef broth ( I used roast beef bouillon paste) 

2 tsp garlic powder 

1/2 cup sliced white onion 

Directions: 

  1. Season chuck roast with kosher salt

  2. Place into crock pot 

  3. Add French onion dip soup mix 

  4. Add beef broth 

  5. Add bay leaves 

  6. Add sliced onion and garlic powder

  7. Add onion

  8. Cook on low for 8 hours 

  9. Take out beef and shred 

  10. Using a fine mesh strainer, strain broth over a bowl to collect au jus.

  11. In a moisten paper towel, place rolls into microwave for 30 seconds

  12. Place rolls on a cookie sheet and spread button on both sides. Toast until butter has melted

  13. Assemble sandwich with two slices of provolone and meat.

  14. Bake until cheese is melty at 375

  15. Place au jus in bowl next to sandwich 

  16. Dip sandwich is and au jus for every savory bite
