French dip sandwiches
Ingredients:
3 lb chuck roast
8 hoagie rolls
2 tbs butter
1 package French onion dip mix
2 tsp kosher salt
2 bay leaves
4 cups of beef broth ( I used roast beef bouillon paste)
2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 cup sliced white onion
Directions:
Season chuck roast with kosher salt
Place into crock pot
Add French onion dip soup mix
Add beef broth
Add bay leaves
Add sliced onion and garlic powder
Add onion
Cook on low for 8 hours
Take out beef and shred
Using a fine mesh strainer, strain broth over a bowl to collect au jus.
In a moisten paper towel, place rolls into microwave for 30 seconds
Place rolls on a cookie sheet and spread button on both sides. Toast until butter has melted
Assemble sandwich with two slices of provolone and meat.
Bake until cheese is melty at 375
Place au jus in bowl next to sandwich
Dip sandwich is and au jus for every savory bite
